The FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) isn’t just any motorsports event; it’s among the most challenging and thrilling in the world. Managed by WRC Promoter and its sister company, Rallycross Promoter, they oversee three distinct motorsports championships:

• The FIA World Rallycross Championship (World RX) – A fan-focused, arena-based series combining both gravel and asphalt tracks for adrenaline-packed action.

• The FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) – A global motorsport event featuring rallies across all terrains, testing drivers and vehicles in grueling conditions.

• The FIA European Rally Championship (ERC) – Centered on the European continent, this series brings high-octane rallying closer to local fans.

Customer requirement

DIAGNAL and Comcast Technology Solutions (“CTS”) was approached to help WRC apply its passion for people and technology into a new, advanced, always-on multi-screen application (Rally TV) that makes the most of WRC’s rich variety of competitive rallying, and its vast catalog of motorsports content.

Alongside the launch of Rally TV, WRC sought to maintain and refresh their existing websites World RX, WRC and ERC as sources of driver stats, live timing, results & standings and news.

DIAGNAL solution

DIAGNAL Enlight, an OTT applications solution, enables the deployment of Rally.TV app across a wide range of device platforms while DIAGNAL Enhance, a content management solution, ensures the efficient management of all sports data, live updates, articles, and other content to drive user engagement.

DIAGNAL solutions are integrated with the CTS Cloud Video Platform to power subscription-based and free-to-air video streaming across Rally TV’s live events and on-demand catalogue. They also contribute to the CTS Insights business intelligence dashboard, offering a full suite of business and quality of service metrics for WRC Promoter.

DIAGNAL’s team played a significant role in supporting CTS from discovery through to product design, development, integration and to finally deploying the digital platforms for WRC Promoter.
